What is eco-leather?

Eco-leather is a leather product whose ecological indicators meet the requirements of ecological standards. It is an artificial leather made by crushing waste leather, scraps and discarded leather, and then adding adhesives and pressing. It belongs to the third generation of products. Eco-leather needs to meet the standards set by the state, including four items: free formaldehyde, hexavalent chromium content, banned azo dyes and pentachlorophenol content. 1. Free formaldehyde: If it is not completely removed, it will cause great harm to human cells and even cause cancer. The standard is: the content is less than 75ppm. 2. Hexavalent chromium: Chromium can make leather soft and elastic. It exists in two forms: trivalent chromium and hexavalent chromium. Trivalent chromium is harmless. Excessive hexavalent chromium can damage human blood. The content must be less than 3ppm, and TeCP is less than 0.5ppm. 3. Banned azo dyes: Azo is a synthetic dye that produces aromatic amines after contact with the skin, which causes cancer, so this synthetic dye is prohibited. 4. Pentachlorophenol content: It is an important preservative, toxic, and can cause biological deformities and cancer. The content of this substance in leather products is stipulated to be 5ppm, and the more stringent standard is that the content can only be lower than 0.5ppm.
